About Me

Hi, my name is Callum. I am 24 years old and am a vegetarian. I live in West Sussex, UK.

I am passionate about cleanliness and organising, which is great when it comes to creating my confectionery treats and bakes. I’m a perfectionist and want every creation to be perfect. This can be very frustrating for myself, but my family and friends like all the “non perfect” rejects! I am neurodiverse so reading, writing and spelling can be a challenge for me, so I mainly use technology to help. However, if you have a complicated query, I may take a bit longer to respond until I can get additional support to deal with your query effectively.

I began baking for family and friends at the age of 15, sparking my passion for creating cakes, brownies, cookies and other tasty bakes as well as giving back to the people closest to me.

At the age of 18, I started posting my bakes on social media under GleniBakes, creating a portfolio which led to a positive social following. I continued to develop my skills and knowledge around baking aiming to make a career out of my passion.

I attended Team Domenica at the age of 19. It is a social enterprise charity set up to create futures for young people with additional needs. I worked in Café Domenica to gain experience in food preparation, barista training, washing up, front of house, ironing, errands and undertook work experience. One of these was at Bird & Blend Tea Co. which led to them offering me a part-time paid position.

When COVID-19 hit, I was aware that Team Domenica had to close its cafés, so I proposed and implemented an online ‘Baked Goods Delivery Service’ for them with their support. I created the recipes for a variety of their brownies and provided photographs for their website. Team Domenica advertised the ‘BAKED GOODS BY CALLUM’ delivery service through their own social media, which featured in The Brighton Time and was even shared by Nigella Lawson on her social.

I also volunteer at a local chocolate company called ’Charlene’s Chocolate Factory’. With the support of Richard and Sophie, I realised my personal passion was working with chocolate to create bars, novelty shapes, truffles and lots more which led to GleniChocolatier. I set up my own production room, gained food hygiene qualifications and a Food Hygiene Rating of 5.

I have been lucky enough to attend two prestigious courses run by the Chocolate Academy UK & Ireland. I really enjoyed them, and I learned a lot from the chefs. To find out more…

My other passions are ICT and photography which have given me the skills to both design this website and to take photos of the bakes and confectionery treats. I’ve also been developing my knowledge of social media putting it into practice through Feed, which has recently added to our site. Click here to check out our Feed today!

Other personal interests are innovational technology, being around animals especially dogs. I have a dog called Mac who is a rescue dog. He is a ‘jippet’, a cross between a Jack Russell and whippet.

I want to thank those people who have inspired me to become the best Chocolatier and Baker I can be. They are my family, friends, teachers, viewers and customers.

Welcome to Gleni, the parent company of GleniBakes and GleniChocolatier. We are located in West Sussex, England along the south coast.

GleniBakes was founded in October 2018 as a portfolio on social media. Callum further developed his knowledge and skills within baking and confectionery leading him to create a website in 2022 with posts such as Portfolio, Recipes, Blogs and more.

We achieved a 5-star Food Hygiene Certificate enabling us to work with Charlene’s Chocolate Factory, Bird & Blend and Team Domenica. We’ve also branched out to sell artisan products directly through our website.

In April 2023 GleniChocolatier was launched selling hand crafted, vegetarian, artisan chocolates. We take huge pride and care in producing high quality products using the finest Belgian chocolate from a Cocoa Horizons 100% sustainable source.

June 2024, we released Feed to our site which enable users to learn about announcements, offers and discounts, behind-the-scenes, live updates and lots more.
