Trip To The Allergy & Free From Show In London - Olympia London. Visited on the 21st June 2025.

It was a very warm hot day in London but luckily, the event I attended had aircon. The reason I attended was to see, learn more about allergens and what new products are available for me to possibly use in the future.

What I went to see at the Inspiration Stage.
Becky Excell (Speaker) 'Queen of Gluten Free' Doing a Q&A with Host, Morgan Moore.

Three different facts about free-from products.
  • Gluten-Free: Products must avoid wheat, barley, and rye, and are tested to ensure they meet safety standards of less than 20ppm of gluten.

  • Dairy-Free: These products contain no milk, lactose, or dairy proteins, and use substitutes like oat, almond, or soy to cater to those with intolerances or allergies.

  • Nut-Free: Items are made without peanuts or tree nuts (almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pistachios, and walnuts) and are often produced in controlled environments to avoid cross-contamination.

Some of the brands I love at the event...
Salcombe Dairy UK, Toast'd, The White Rabbit Pizza Co, Quality Sprinkles, New Forest Fruit Snacks, M&S Free From, Tesco Free From, Warburtons Gluten Free, Schär, Promise Gluten Free, and lots more!

Further important companies that were also there...
Coeliac UK, Anaphylaxis UK, Natasha's Allergy Research Foundation, Allergy UK and of course, loads more!

The cost of free-from VS non-free from groceries...
Free-from foods, such as those that are gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, or free from other common allergens, tend to be more expensive than their standard counterparts. This is primarily due to the specialized ingredients used and the strict manufacturing processes needed to avoid cross-contamination. Many of these products are made in dedicated facilities or require additional testing to meet safety standards, which increases production costs. As a result, individuals who follow a free-from diet often face higher prices when shopping for groceries.

I still think it is unfair for individuals that suffer with food intolerances and allergies are required to pay more!
