Throwback from Easter 2024 with Callum and his family, decorating chocolate easter eggs.
The finished decorated eggs in order from left to right Nan, Grandad, Sisters boyfriend, Sister, Callum, Dad and Mum.
Preparation to make the chocolate eggs before decoration:
Approximately weigh the tempered milk chocolate into the egg mould. Place the top part of the mould and click into place. Then I immediately lifted and rotated the mould, coating the inside of the shell with an even layer. Next I put the chocolate eggs into the fridge until set. Once set I carefully unmoulded the eggs and placed them in ramekins to keep them still, ready for decoration.
Family getting creative together to decorate their chocolate easter eggs.
In the middle of the table Callum made chocolate decorations that could be used on their eggs. From eyes, eyebrows, mouths, mini chocolate eggs, frogs, letters. We used thick glace icing to act as glue and for intricate decoration. We also brought mini M&Ms and mini Malteser bunnies.
