My Trip To Cadbury World

27th April 2025

My Trip to Cadbury World. Visited on the 7th of March 2025.

What I got up to at Cadbury World UK.

Attractions:
Aztec Jungle, Bull Street, Manufacturing, Chocolate making, Advertising Avenue, Cadbury Chocolate Quest, 4D Chocolate Adventure, The Bournville Experience and Cadbury World Shop.

You start a self guided tour at the main entrance, where you are given two free chocolate bars as part of your ticket entry. I received a Cadbury's Caramel and a Twirl chocolate bar. On entering, you go to the Aztec jungle, learning more about chocolate and its history. This is where you discover the origins of the cacao bean and the story behind how the Aztec emperor Montezuma's favourite drink was ‘chocolatl’. And how Montezuma introduced chocolate to the Spanish explorer Hernán Cortéz, who then brought the cocoa bean back to the continent. This leads to Bull Street, which is a recreation of a Victorian Bull Street and find out where the business began. Then you go into the story of Cadbury's and short videos on manufacturing from how they make Cadbury products such as Cadbury's cream eggs, buttons, roses and more.

Next, onto a chocolate making demonstration where you can watch a short demonstration of tempering and moulding of chocolate. After you are taken through to the making chocolate area where with your ticket you receive a free pot of melted dairy milk chocolate with toppings of your choice. (Oreos, Jelly babies, White chocolate buttons and Fudge pieces) I chose to have white chocolate buttons and fudge pieces, This was yummy! At this point, you will see a small number of Cadbury’s employees working with the chocolate. They were making Cadbury World exclusives, when I visited they were making teapots, shoes, Chuckle plaques and medium plaques. I also know that they make giant chocolate footballs. Afterwards, you move into Advertising Avenue where you can see adverts from over the years such as the Astro advert, Gorilla advert, Roses advert, Milk Tray advert and many more. My favourite from Cadbury World was the Gorilla advert.

From Advertising Avenue, you go straight to a new ride called Cadbury Chocolate Quest. The objective is to use a laser shooter to collect cocoa beans and milk to help Freddo make Cadbury Dairy Milk Bars. The ride was good fun and I enjoyed it, but sadly quite short and I wish you could ride it more than once. Spoiler on the ride, you may get wet! Sadly, I have no pictures or videos of the ride as they strictly prohibit recording and photos, but if you wanted to see what it's like, there are many videos out there. When finishing the ride, you are handed a Cadbury Dairy Milk bar of your own.

Sadly, Cadbury has closed/removed the Cadabra ride. When I was younger, I used to love this ride. It's such a shame that they got rid of it. I wish they could've kept both.

The 4D Chocolate Adventure is situated outside the main building near the play area, It features motion effects, loud music, and a 3D cinema experience where you are required to wear 3D glasses. The short fun animated adventure has you diving into liquid Cadbury Dairy Milk, in a Crunchie rollercoaster, then taking you to the skies in a Cadbury Creme Egg airship piloted by the Caramel Bunny with their copilot, Freddo the frog.

The Bournville Experience explains the history of Bournville village, informs you about the fascinating Cadbury family heritage and showcases an extensive Collection of nostalgic memorabilia of the brand. Make sure to take some time looking through the pictures and seeing if you recognise any that you used to have or still have today.

When I visited, the 'Have A Go' area was closed, which is where you can practice your piping and chocolate tempering skills. They have a Cadbury World Café and a massive African Adventure Play Area, perfect for children. Although I didn't use these when I visited.

What did I buy at Cadbury World Shop?
Chocolate - Exclusive Cadbury World Chuckle Lolly and Exclusive Cadbury World Chuckle Beans novelty chocolate treats.
Items - Cadbury World lanyard, Cadbury World embroidered badge, Bertie Bassett liquorice bookmark and National Token Cadbury World gold coin of Freddo The Frog.

Would I recommend a visit to Cadbury World?
In my opinion, yes and no because it's quite expensive for the price of the ticket(s), as you can pretty much do everything in a morning or an afternoon. Props to them they have put investment into the place and are trying to make it a better place. Cadbury World is quite child orientated. Not as much history as I would have liked, but with the Bournville Experience, it is a brilliant start.

Thank you for reading about my trip to Cadbury World!
Many thanks,
Callum
